Process Server Cost Calculator

Work out an estimated total cost for having legal documents served — enter the fees you've been quoted and let the calculator do the rest.

What Does It Cost to Serve Legal Documents in the UK?

Process serving costs vary depending on how many attempts are needed, where the documents are being served, and what additional services are involved — printing, notarisation, tracing an address, or attending court to swear an affidavit of service. Our free process server cost calculator lets you add up all of these fees in one place to get a clear estimated total before you instruct a process server.

Simply enter the amounts you've been quoted (or expect to pay) for each item below — the calculator totals everything automatically, lets you add VAT at the standard rate with one click, and displays the result in your choice of currency.

What's typically included in a process serving quote

Most process servers charge per attempt — for example, three attempts at different times of day to catch the subject at home.

Commissioner for Oaths fee

Charged when a Commissioner for Oaths needs to witness a signature or administer an oath as part of the process.

Where documents need to be notarised, for example for use in proceedings outside England and Wales.

Swear fee / attendance

If the subject's current address is unknown, a tracing service may be needed before service can be attempted — see our Tracing page.
